To quote an old cereal commercial, the next test is to try to “pinch an inch.”
There are different types of fat in the body.
Visceral fat is dangerous because it tends to pack itself in around organs and build up around the middle.
This sort of fat has been linked to everything from heart disease, to diabetes, to cancer.
So try to grab an inch of your middle between your thumb and forefinger.
If you cannot grab an inch, odds are high that you have visceral fat built up that you’ll want to shed.
You also want to check yourself for memory loss.
One way to do this is to pick a word, any word, and a number between 2 and 10, and then watch the news.
Every time someone says the word of the day, try to remember what word they before it at the number of the day.
For example, the word of the day might be “politics” and the number is 3.
Every time someone says “politics,” try to remember the third word before it.
The better at this you are, the better your memory is!
Pay attention to any back stiffness that lasts.
This could indicate poor flexibility and mean you’re more prone to back pain and injury.
If you find that you’re stiff in your back on any regular basis, the best thing you can do is make improving your back flexibility a priority.
