Great sources are beans
Get enough soluble fiber from natural sources every day. Great sources are beans, fruits, grains (not over processed), and vegetables. Soluble fiber helps to lower the LDL and triglycerides (the unhealthy cholesterol).
Take supplements for coenzyme Q10 and fish oil. These have both been linked to incredible heart healthy and cholesterol lowering benefits. Fish oil contains healthy omega-3 fatty acids, which can also be added directly to a healthy diet by eating more cold water fish.
These methods may not completely alleviate Jack’s needs for a medication to help reduce his cholesterol, but can be helpful in keeping his dosages low and still reap the benefits he needs to have a healthy heart.
