While people are in general working again, the job economy took a definite shift.
For most jobs, there is still an overabundance of available workers, and not enough jobs to go around.
So employers do not have to keep an employee if they have any reason at all for wanting to terminate.
And employers are quicker on the draw to terminate.
Workers are reluctant to make any move that may reflect poorly on them for fear that their job may not be stable.
Taking a vacation when there are plenty of people who’d gladly work the hours seems like a risk.
