The key to a full workout in just 5 minutes is to use the room to your advantage.
So get into some comfy clothes and try these moves out before going out for a day of site seeing.
First, warm up a little by jogging in place a few seconds, then alternating 3 jumping jacks, and back to jogging in place.
Keep doing this for a minute.
By shifting gears after just moments and alternating between the 2 warmups, you’ll rev your heart rate and warm up your entire body.
Do 10 repetitions of each of the following exercises.
Now, climb onto the bed and get into position to do pushups.
First, hold the up position for a 5 count, then lower yourself down into the lower part of the pushup and hold it for a 5 count before going back to start.
By holding each part of the push up, you’re essentially doing planks with the pushup, and multi-tasking!
Still on the bed, lay on your back, knees bent and at your side.
Thrust your pelvis up and hold for 5 seconds, lower slowly until you’re touching the bed again.
Now lift knees until the lower leg is parallel to the bed, and extend legs out straight without allowing your heals to touch the bed.
Hold this for 5 seconds and then bring knees back to parallel and lower to the bed.
Now get your suitcase and place it on the floor in front of you, and then back up to where you have to lunge forward to reach the suitcase.
Lunge forward with one leg and really lean into the stretch.
From this position, pick up the suitcase in one hand, and then return to your standing position.
Using the same hand, lunge forward with the other leg and return the suitcase to the original spot in front of you.
Hold the stretch, and then pick up the suitcase with the other hand.
The last thing to do is to go back to the jogging and jumping jack combination for a solid minute.
Congratulations! You’ve just completed a 5 minute workout that covered arms, abs, legs, and cardio… all without leaving your hotel room.
