There is a new term in the research circles in response to a new mental health hazard in the workplace called telepressure.
Telepressure is the need to obsessively check and return work emails on personal time.
This can be in response to a feeling of needing to be on call at all times for work.
Being on call 24 hours a day, including weekends leads to both physical and emotional burnout.
The best way to combat this is to set a strict policy of being unplugged from work during non-working hours.
